2003 Pinarello Galileo

I really love the look of this bike, which is why I decided to keep it. I won many races on this baby and it was also the first Pinarello hybrid mix frame.  Its an Aluminium Frame with Carbon Front (forks) and Rear (tail). This bike was the first time since my 1988 Pinarello I had moved away from 'All Black' paintwork.

The Shimano Ultegra looks awesome against the Black and polished Aluminium frame, the Mavic Cosmic Carbone Wheels finish it off beautifully.

It weighs just under 9 kilo's which by todays standards is seriously overweight. It does however make this a great bike to train on as when you jump on your 6 kilo bike to race it feels like a feather...

Pictured to the right is the original Pinarello advertisement for the Galileo.  As you can see the Mavic Deep Dish Carbon Wheels make a massive difference to the aero look of the bike.

The only downside to these wheels are when you are racing in a cross-wind at which point I would be wishing I still had the original wheels on...
